Dressing With Diamond Dressing Tools
DRESSING WITH ROTARY DIAMOND DRESSING TOOLS
Difference between Synchronous and Asynchronous dressing:
The following diagrams explain the difference between Synchronous and Asynchronous dressing. If we imagine a single diamond on a dressing roll of 0 90 mm and a speed ratio qdof 0.8 (ratio of surface speeds of grinding wheel and dressing roll), this single diamond will describe the paths shown on the following diagrams.
In synchronous mode, the diamond's angle of penetration on the grinding wheel is much steeper, therefore resulting in a much more aggressive wheel than in asynchronous mode. As a general guideline it is recommended to always dress in synchronous mode to obtain as aggressive a wheel as possible. Only use the asynchronous mode if the surface requirements cannot be met with synchronous dressing.
qd = Speed ratio between diamond tool and grinding wheel
ad = Infeed of diamond roll
qd = Surface speed of diamond roll
qd = Surface speed of grinding wheel
Grinding wheel: WA 60 KV
Dressing tool: diamond roll (D700/7.5)
Wheel surface speed during dressing: 30 m/s (5900sfpm)
These wheels are inventoried at our facility in
Switzerland. Standard delivery for wheels listed in inventory is approximately (6) weeks via sea freight or for an additional charge to cover the added cost of transportation (2-3) weeks via air. Also, should you not be able to find the exact dimensions you require for an additional cost to cover alteration, any of the existing wheels may be modified into lesser dimensions or supplied with standard or special shapes.
